Exercise to Both Stimulate and Relax
Without a shadow of a doubt in my opinion, exercise and fresh air are great ways of keeping your mind, body and spirit in shape and ready for the challenges that modern day living demands.
I am fortunate to live on the edge of town close to the moors, I always make time daily to walk five or six miles whatever the weather may bring.
I walk pretty fast over rough moorland and up steep gradients to around 800 foot about sea level, the muscles in my legs certainly feel like they have had a workout as does my heart. While I’m walking I take with me certain issues that need addressing, these could be such as “a problem with work that needs my attention, working out a plan of action or just hoping and visualising certain events that I would like to happen.
I always arrive back at the car with a new idea, a new way of thinking, the problem solved and generally much brighter and positive.
Anyone not fortunate enough to live near the countryside or if you work in an office, take time out and go for a walk in your local park maybe at lunchtime.
Attending your local gym after a days work is actually a great way of relaxing, most people may find that odd that a gym can be relaxing, but if you have been typing out reports all day sat at your computer your body will be crying out for some exercise, not only will your body find a workout stimulating your brain will too.
By having a workout you are concentrating on getting fit rather than the report that has been causing you problems all day, you will have a good nights sleep, feeling refreshed in the morning ready for the challenges of the day.
So there are two examples of how exercise can help you focus or help you relax.
